Mumbai: 26 teams have qualified for knockout stage in the Boys U-16, private schools soccer completion at the 7th QPR – South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenger 2015.
Summary of the first weekend (17th & 18th October, 2015)
Day 1 – 17th October, 2015
– Over 142 teams: Private and Municipal Schools
– Boys Category: Under-14 Private and Under-16 Municipal teams
– Over 1300 Kids attendance
– Total 5 pitches were set up and each pitch accommodated 30 matches per day from 9 am to 5 pm. A total of 150 matches a day were conducted.
Boys U-14, Private Schools
– 32 groups of 3 teams each attended under this category along with their family and School coaches
– Each team had to play 2 matches of 15 mins each during the day.
– Over 94 League matches were conducted in the first half of the day witnessing a crowd of about more than 800 participants
– 32 Teams Qualified who stood on the 1st Rank in their particular group.
– Few teams that qualified for knockout rounds are
St. Xaviers Boys – A; Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 B; Christ Church Cambridge – B; Holy Name High School – A; St. Mary’s High School (SSC) – A
Boys U -16, Municipal Schools
– 16 groups of 3 teams each attended the Tournament
– Each team played two matches in the league stage in order to stand the first place in their group to qualify for the Knockout games.
– Over 50 league matches were being conducted in the Second half of the day.
– 16 teams qualified for knock-out rounds who were ranked 1st in their group

Day 2 – 18th October, 2015
– Over 150 teams: Private Schools
– Boys Category: Under-12 and Under-16
– Over 1200 Kids attendance
– Total 5 Pitches were set up with fully packed schedule for the whole day.
– 150 league matches were conducted throughout the day
Boys U-12, Private Schools
– 24 groups of 3 teams each played in the first half
– Each team played 2 matches witnessing massive support from the Coaches and families
– 72 matches were conducted under this category and more than 600 participants were present
– 24 teams qualified for knockouts
– Few teams that qualified for knockout rounds are:
NSS Hill Spring International School – A; St. Xaviers Boys – A; Bai Kabibai English School; Sundatta School – B
Boys U-16, Private Schools
– 26 groups of 3 each attended the tournament
– Each team played 2 games within their group to be placed in the 1st position in order to qualify for knock-out rounds
– 78 matches were conducted under this category in the second half of the day
– 26 teams qualified for knockouts
