Bangalore: Six athletes, including the women’s 400m hurdles gold medal winner at the Asian Games, AC Ashwini, will be hoping that the National Anti Doping Agency ( NADA) panel delivers a favourable verdict on Friday.
The athletes, who tested positive for anabolic steroids in May and June this year, have one eye on the London Olympics. The possibility of these athletes making the grade as a 4x400m relay team seems remote even if they are pardoned by the disciplinary committee headed by Justice Dinesh Dayal. But that hasn’t stopped them from wishing that they would be provided with an opportunity as the last qualifying event is scheduled on July 2.
