Yuvraj Singh<\/a> who received an Arjuna Award <\/a>is delighted with the recognition he got from the government, says a report in The Hindu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a very prestigious award and bigger than anything that I have achieved in life. I was nominated twice but couldn\u2019t get it for whatever reasons. This award will give me lot of courage and strength to give my best. It will be a huge inspiration really and I take it as a feather in my cap. It brings such respect\u201d, said Yuvraj.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI feel proud of now being known as an Arjuna Awardee. I am also excited because the President presented the award and it means a lot. It was a momentous occasion for me and my family.\u201d
Yuvraj also acknowledged the fact that the sportsmen from other disciplines deserve all the accolades as they probably work harder in comparison to the cricketers.<\/p>\n

\u201cLife is tougher for them compared to cricketers and that\u2019s why they deserve greater accolades. They are very special achievers who do their country proud and I felt privileged to be in such company\u201d, said Yuvraj.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The Times of India <\/strong>reported Yuvraj saying that he is fit to make a comeback into the squad.<\/p>\n

“I have been training at the National Cricket Academy for the last three months. I also played in a couple of practice matches recently where I managed to perform well. I think I am ready to play in my first international match after a year’s gap on September 8”, said Yuvraj.<\/p>\n

Yuvraj also had an answer for the critics who doubted his fitness, “Critics have the right to speak but frankly they haven’t seen me train at the NCA. I have been picked by the selectors after getting an ‘all-clear’ from the NCA”, said the flamboyant left-hander.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
