{"id":8702,"date":"2012-07-25T11:36:54","date_gmt":"2012-07-25T11:36:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=8702"},"modified":"2012-07-25T11:36:54","modified_gmt":"2012-07-25T11:36:54","slug":"rajeev-shukla-arun-jaitley-and-rajat-sharma-join-hockey-india-league-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=8702","title":{"rendered":"Rajeev Shukla, Arun Jaitley and Rajat Sharma join Hockey India League Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Delhi<\/strong>: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and media personality Rajat Sharma have been named members of the Board of the high-profile Hockey India League (HIL) that will be held in January-February 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Hockey India Secretary-General and HIL Chairman Dr. Narinder Batra said the appointments of these personalities from outside hockey circles would enhance the profile of the League. \u201cWe are honoured that Mr Rajeev Shukla,\u00a0 Arun Jaitley and\u00a0 Rajat Sharma have accepted our invitation to be on the Board,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are sure that the Hockey India League will gain from Shukla\u2019s knowledge gained as Chairman of the Indian Premier League Governing Council and in public life, Jaitley\u2019s vast experience as lawyer and sports administrator and Rajat Sharma\u2019s experience as a media personality,\u201d Dr. Batra said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am glad to be given the opportunity to serve our National sport and am sure that the Hockey India League will be an unqualified success,\u201d Shukla said. \u201cI believe everyone in our country loves hockey and hopes for it to return to the big league.
