Pune Warriors players, Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell who were detained from a rave party have tested positive for drugs, says a report in The Hindu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Hindu quoted Mumbai Additional Commissioner of Police (Western Region) saying, \u201cA total of 90 persons were detained by us during the raid. We had received the report on 46 persons and a report on the remaining 44 persons was received today. Of the 90, 86 have tested positive while two males and two females have tested negative.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rahul Sharma is in Sri Lanka with the Indian team, while Parnell is in his home country South Africa.<\/p>\n

Rahul Sharma\u2019s captain in the Indian Premier League, Sourav Ganguly has come out in support of him saying that the young leg-spinner who tested positive for drugs might have committed the \u201cmistake unknowingly\u201d, says a report in The Hindustan Times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“It’s disappointing but I think, it’s a mistake more than a routine thing. He’s a young boy, he had gone for a party where probably I am not sure whether knowingly or unknowingly, he had it,” said Ganguly.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI don’t think it was a performance enhancing drug for which he should be punished. I think it was of that strange incident, one unfortunate incident which should not cost him his India place. He should be punished for little bit of time but I don’t think it’s such a grave issue that he should be banned from playing for India. The BCCI needs to counsel him.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The Times of India <\/strong>reports that Rahul Sharma who is in the Indian squad for the one-day series against Sri Lanka faces arrest and after he tested positive for consumption of drugs his participation in the series looks minute.<\/p>\n

BCCI said that they will investigate the matter before taking any action.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know why everyone is in a mood to execute Rahul Sharma without even going into the details. The BCCI will first procure each and every bit of relevant information and then study them before deciding on the course of action\u201d, said N.
