New Delhi: <\/strong>Led by skipper Sourav Ganguly, Pune Warriors got the better of Delhi Daredevils by 20 runs in the IPL encounter at Ferozeshah Kotla on Saturday. Ganguly starred both with the bat and the ball as the former India captain hit a 35-ball 41 runs and later scalped two crucial wickets to give Warriors an away win.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Adjudged the man-of-the-match, Sourav Ganguly said that he always takes on to the crease to perform for the team. \u201cI just look to perform every time I get the opportunity. I just look to score runs. I have taken my time to get back into groove and it\u2019s but natural as I don\u2019t play for India anymore. International cricket is different and first-class cricket is different,\u201d said the former India opener, adding that his getting into form was good for Pune Warriors at this stage.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAs long as the team wins, I am happy. I don\u2019t have to play for India anymore, so it doesn\u2019t matter,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n In all praise for Jesse Ryder, the Pune Warrior skipper said that the Kiwi has been performing consistently. \u201cJesse has been brilliant at the top of the order and I hope he continues performing the same way. We have been playing well, but there is still a long way to go in the tournament. It\u2019s still early days,\u201d added Ganguly.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Meanwhile Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag said that nothing went in their favour today. \u00a0\u201cOur bowling and batting changes didn’t work. I changed the batting order because of the pressure of chasing 190, but we lost two crucial wickets (Pietersen and Pathan) in quick succession. Dada’s two wickets came at a crucial time. My dismissal was crucial because the way I was batting I should have continued.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n In all praise for Sourav Ganguly, Steven Smith, who played a cameo with his 13-ball 34 runs, said that the gutsy performance his skipper saw his team through against daredevils.<\/p>\n “Jesse and Sourav were outstanding with the bat in the middle overs. Ganguly played really well. He brought himself on to bowl at a crucial time and got those two wickets.
