The Indian U-16 National Team currently on an exposure tour in Thailand came from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw against U-17 Bangkok Glass FC today (July 17, 2018). Trailing much of the match, the Colts put in a superb attacking performance in the last ten minutes of the match and scored twice, courtesy of strikes by Ricky (83\u2019) and Ravi (86\u2019), to finish the match on level pegging.<\/p>\n
Coming on the back of a 0-2 win over Buriram United U-17, the Indian Colts were slow off the blocks and the opponents capitalized on that. As early as the 3rd<\/sup> minute, the opponents tested the Indian custodian and once again hovered around the Indian box in the 11th<\/sup> minute when a free-kick was thwarted by the Indian wall.<\/p>\n In the 21st<\/sup> minute, Bangkok Glass FC took the lead and doubled it shortly after in the 24th<\/sup> minute to make the scoreline read 2-0. Stunned, the Indian colts looked to minimize the deficit and in the 30th<\/sup>minute Harpreet\u2019s rasping header missed the goal by inches.<\/p>\n Four minutes later<\/span><\/span>, Bhuvnesh failed to make the most out of a Ridge D\u2019Mello cross. The half-time scoreline read 2-0 in the opponents\u2019 favour.<\/p>\n Changing over, the Indian U-16s pressed and in the 54th<\/sup> minute, the opposition custodian saved Vikram Pratap Singh\u2019s shot as the colts kept the attacking momentum.<\/p>\n In the 64th<\/sup> minute, Shabas found Ridge D\u2019Mello in the box but the latter\u2019s shot was saved by the opposition goalkeeper. A minute later, Givson\u2019s shot earned the same treatment.<\/p>\n The young colts had the best opportunity of the match in the 74th<\/sup> minute when Vikram Pratap Singh\u2019s shot hit the woodwork from close range after Rohit Danu\u2019s attempt was thwarted by the opposition custodian.<\/p>\n In the 83rd<\/sup> minute, Ricky found the net for the Indian U-16s and reduced the deficit as the scoreline read 2-1. Three minutes later<\/span><\/span>, Ravi found the net for India and equalized the deficit as the scoreline read 2-2.<\/p>\n Although with attacking momentum on their side, the Indian Colts pressed for the decisive goal, but with time running out could not foster it.
