Jaipur: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and the Rajasthan State Sports Council have jointly launched the Jaipur Open 2017. The tournament, carrying a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakhs, will be played at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur from September 13th \u2013 16th, 2017. The Pro-Am event will be played on September 17th.<\/p>\n
The tournament features some of the top Indian professionals such as Rashid Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan, Udayan Mane and Ashok Kumar, to name a few.<\/p>\n
The international challenge will be led by the Sri Lankan trio of Mithun Perera, Anura Rohana and K Prabagaran, Bangladesh\u2019s Md Zamal Hossain Mollah, South African Damian Naicker and Nepal\u2019s Toran Bikram Shahi.<\/p>\n
The Jaipur-based professionals in the field are Vishal Singh, Mahesh Yadav, Damodar Kumawat and Yogendra Kumawat.<\/p>\n
Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Minister of Forest, Environment, Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of Rajasthan, said, \u201cGolf is the most interesting sport in the world for all ages. A truly destressing sport. I wish the Jaipur Open a grand success.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tournament has been conceptualized with the intention of tapping into the huge potential for golf in Rajasthan. This event helps PGTI expand its geographical base by establishing its footprints in the city of Jaipur and the state of Rajasthan. The tournament is thus in line with PGTI\u2019s long-term objective of promoting professional golf across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rambagh Golf Club, the premier golfing venue of Rajasthan, is a challenging Par 70 championship course with a yardage of 6303. The course is strategically designed on sandy loam soil and has a picturesque location with beautiful surroundings.
