{"id":3510,"date":"2012-03-19T13:42:24","date_gmt":"2012-03-19T13:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=3510"},"modified":"2012-03-19T13:42:24","modified_gmt":"2012-03-19T13:42:24","slug":"patel-stresses-on-comprehensive-youth-development-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=3510","title":{"rendered":"Patel stresses on Youth Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/football\/aiff_meeting.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Mr. Praful Patel, President All India Football Federation addresses the AIFF Annual General Body Meeting in New Delhi on Monday\" style=\"float: left; margin: 6px;\" \/>New Delhi<\/strong>: Praful Patel, President of the All India Football Federation chaired the Annual General Body meeting of the<a href=\"component\/search\/?searchword=AIFF&amp;ordering=&amp;searchphrase=all#content\" title=\"http:\/\/www.indiansportsnews.com\/component\/search\/?searchword=AIFF&amp;ordering=&amp;searchphrase=all#content\"> All India Football Federation<\/a> (AIFF) in the presence of AIFF General Secretary Mr. Kushal Das, Vice-Presidents, Mr. Subrata Dutta, Mr. Ankur Datta, Mr. AR Khaleel and Mr. Venod Sharma.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Committee members of the AIFF and members from all the Member State Associations (except Arunachal Pradesh) and other stakeholders were also present as was Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran, FIFA Regional Developmental Officer for South and Central Asia; representatives from AIFF\u2019s Marketing partners and invitees from sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Mr. Patel stressed on laying a solid foundation which would take Indian Football to the next level. \u201cWe need to have a comprehensive Youth Development Programme which would guide us in the right direction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Regional and the Elite Academies are going as per schedule,\u201d he added. \u201cCoach Education stays an integral part of the Curriculum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2011 was an eventful year for Indian football. Besides India winning the SAFF Championship, the U-16 boys made it to the final phase of the AFC U-16 in Tashkent, which is commendable indeed. I also congratulate the U-13 girls for winning the AFC U-13 Football Tournament in Colombo recently,\u201d Mr. Patel opined.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kushal Das announced that a new U-19\/20 National Level tournament would be held every season from now on.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Prabhakaran made a presentation titled \u2018Performance\u2019 which stressed on Professional Football Management.<\/p>\n<p>A minute\u2019s silence was also observed prior to the start of the meeting in memory of former Internationals and Office administrators &#8212; Mr. Sailendra Nath Manna, Mr. K.V. Varadraj, Mr. A.S.
