{"id":33054,"date":"2017-02-05T14:07:27","date_gmt":"2017-02-05T14:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=33054"},"modified":"2017-02-05T14:07:27","modified_gmt":"2017-02-05T14:07:27","slug":"india-to-host-women-s-asia-cup-basketball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=33054","title":{"rendered":"India to host women&#8217;s Asia Cup basketball"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-24427\" src=\"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/basketball-260.jpg\" width=\"259\" height=\"162\" alt=\"basketball 260\" style=\"margin-right: 8px; margin-bottom: 8px; float: left;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/basketball-260.jpg 259w, https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/basketball-260-150x94.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/>Bengaluru: The FIBA Women&#8217;s Asia Cup and FIBA Under-16 Women&#8217;s Asian Championship, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) announced on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The FIBA Women&#8217;s Asia Cup will be held from July 23 to 29 in Bengaluru while the FIBA U-16 Women&#8217;s Asian Championship will be held from October 22 to 28 in Hyderabad, a BFI statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen teams will take part in both events, with eight teams in Division A (which include new Oceania teams Australia and New Zealand) and six in lower Division B.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the first time since 2009 that India will host a major International Basketball Federation (FIBA) event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;FIBA has allotted this event to India with utmost confidence and support, based on the steady increase in on-court quality of the Indian national teams over the past two years since the new leadership of the BFI, led by President K.
