{"id":31150,"date":"2016-12-28T11:05:14","date_gmt":"2016-12-28T11:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=31150"},"modified":"2016-12-28T11:05:14","modified_gmt":"2016-12-28T11:05:14","slug":"sports-minister-threatens-to-snap-ties-with-ioa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=31150","title":{"rendered":"Sports Minister threatens to snap ties with IOA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi: Union Sports Minister <a href=\"component\/tags\/tag\/1636-vijay-goel\"><strong>Vijay Goel<\/strong><\/a> on Wednesday threatened to break all ties with the <a href=\"component\/tags\/tag\/1820-indian-olympic-association\"><strong>Indian Olympic Association<\/strong><\/a> (IOA) if it does not sack tainted Suresh Kalmadi and Abhay Singh Chautala from its posts of Life Presidents.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The ministry will never accept such tainted people in the <a href=\"component\/tags\/tag\/1820-indian-olympic-association\"><strong>Indian Olympic Association<\/strong><\/a> and that is why we have expressed our reservations right after they were appointed last evening,&#8221; Goel told reporters here.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The ministry will issue a showcause notice to the IOA within a day or two as the government will in no way allow corrupt people in such posts,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want all the federations to be transparent and corruption free.
