Mumbai: Ever since Aadil Bedi came back from USA after finishing runner-up in World Cup, the 15-year-old has never looked back. He is even charged up to take up challenge with top professionals of India. He not only made cut at the CG Open, but also won the low Amateur Trophy with brilliant score of 67, 67, 70 and 69. <\/p>\n
Aadil said that playing with 126 top professionals gave him different thrill, apart from lot of experience. He finished at creditable 16th position overall with a match with score of 7-under-273.<\/p>\n
Last month, Aadil played a PGTI event at Bangaluru and made the cut there too. Both these events were worth Rs 1-crore and are counted as major events in India.<\/p>\n
Aadil started playing golf at the age of four and has so far won 157 medals\/ trophies in 235 national and international events across the globe. His mission is to play the Masters 2020 and Olympics 2020. He has topped the country junior merit list at the age of 11, 13 and 15. <\/p>\n
“I am going through special fitness training with Dr Gurmeet Singh at Punjab University, Chandigarh. Keeping in Olympic 2020, we are working on athletics, kinaesthetic senses, motor qualities and speed training to improve my golf swing, which at present is not good enough to win gold at Olympic 2020. Mental rehearsal for peaking off and other discussion in the ground with Dr Gurmeet is of utmost important to take up other bigger international events,” said Aadil. <\/p>\n
Dr Gurmeet said that Aadil was completing 100 meters in nearly 12 seconds this year.<\/p>\n
Aadil is a class X student of Vivek high school. He trains with Jesse Grewal at CGA Golf Range and is under special supervision of Dr. Bob Byman of USA. <\/p>\n
Aadil said, “It was an important match for me. I was carrying a lot of pressure to play in front of 120 top professionals, including my foursome players like Rashid Khan, Khalin Joshi , Veer Alahwat , Aman Raj and Samarth Devedi. I decided to put the ball in the fairway with 70% of power and second shot on or around the green. This was secret for my game. I hit almost 90% greens and fairway everyday. In fact on the first two days, I had only one boggy,”<\/p>\n
“I have one week rest before I play Northern India and All India final at Gurgaon next week. I will work with my coach on final points in the putting and chipping before final two matches of this year and my final board exam of Class X,” said Aadil.<\/p>\n
