Tabuena’s two-day total of seven-under-par 137 meant he will start the weekend rounds in tied-24th place, eight shots back of India’s Jyoti Randhawa, who leads on 129.<\/p>\n
The Filipino traded three birdies against a lone bogey at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club and felt let down by his putting on a day where he could only make 32 putts. <\/p>\n
“I couldn’t really get it going especially on the greens. I hit several good shots to the pins but didn’t manage to convert them. I lost some ground today but there still two more days to go,” said Tabuena.<\/p>\n
As the highest ranked Filipino player at the richest golf tournament in the Philippines, Tabuena knows he is carrying the weight of his nation and is ready to spearhead the country’s charge against the region’s best players.<\/p>\n
“Every time I play at home that I’ve to do something special. You must have the ability to bounce back when you are playing at the highest level like this. I have done it before and will do it again,” said the one-time Asian Tour winner.<\/p>\n
