Yuvraj Singh is unhappy about the ‘invasive and speculative’ attention from the media back home.\u00a0 In an interview to The Times Of India, <\/strong>he said that the media should not be speculating about his illness. “Why this Kolaveri di over my ailment?” Yuvi said over phone from his hospital in Boston (USA), adding, \u201c”I have immense faith in the doctors here and by the grace of God I shall be back to my best soon. I am on medication and doctors have time-and-again told me that I am responding well and that I would be back playing cricket.”<\/p>\n

He added, “I am a fighter and I will return stronger than ever. Initially, I was angry and confused. I was even repentant and kept thinking I could have done some things in life differently. However, I have a counsellor here who has helped me get over the initial shock of learning that I am suffering from cancer. I have come to terms with it now”. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, with the news of Yuvraj’s illness hitting the headlines, there is widespread criticism that Birla Sun Life Insurance is trying to cash in on the player’s illness by continuing to air the commercial, which shows the cricketer recounting how after the glory of being the man of the tournament of last year’s Cricket World Cup that India won after 28 years, his health deteriorated and he went out of the team.<\/p>\n

However, Ajay Kakar, chief marketing officer (financial services) of Aditya Birla Group Kakar, , is neither perturbed about the criticism nor apologetic about the advertisement. “Those who find the ad to be opportunistic have not formed their opinion on the basis of facts,” he tells The Economic Times <\/strong>in an interview.\u00a0 \u201cThere is a controversy because people have formed an opinion-which I think is not correct-without knowing the facts. So this opinion is neither informed, nor the controversy warranted. We have been with Yuvraj through his highs and lows, and would continue to do so. The advertisement was shot last September in Mumbai, and that time nobody was aware of the cricketer’s sickness, including Yuvi himself. And we always wanted this campaign to roll out during January-February, the peak period for financial services sector, including insurance. We first aired the advertisement on January 30, and nobody was even aware of Yuvi’s illness then,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

In between Yograj Singh, Yuvraj\u2019s father, is angry that Yuvraj\u2019s illness was not informed to him. He finds fault with the cricketer\u2019s close circle. \u201cThey have been saying all is well. He was not allowed to undergo a certain things by his gurus. That Dr Jatin Chaudhry has been stating that he will be fine. In the end, a BCCI doctor suggested that he should be cured. Keeping a son\u2019s health problems away from his father is not just bad, it is a crime,\u201d Yograj tells DNA.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yograj thinks his son is misguided by his advisors. \u201cHe trusted them more than me. I don\u2019t know why. I\u2019ve got a son every father would be proud of. All I want is few words from my son.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Yuvraj in his twitter page wrote that nobody but he himself was to blame for the delay in his treatment and insisted he will return a stronger person. “I see few people trying to blame my guruji for delay and bcci! Again wrong it was my decision! The president and the members of bcci have bin a huge support in my tough times and because of them I’m getting the best treatment!
