Kolkata: Dabang Delhi eked out their first win in Season 2 of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi in Kolkata today. They quelled the late challenge of their opponents 38-37, after they had managed to squeak ahead with a minute to go by two points. But a couple of productive raids by the Delhi star Kashiling Adake and rival captain Wazir Singh failing with a do or die raid wrote finish to the aspirations of the side from Western India.<\/p>\n
The match was replete with attacks and counters and excellent catching by defenders from either side. The Dabangs got their rivals out in the first half twice to run up a 25-11 lead. It looked as if they would run away with the match. But the Paltan had other thoughts.<\/p>\n
They regrouped with Pravin Niwale leading the charge much to the surprise of the Delhi outfit. He teased and tormented the rival defence with his nimble footwork and deft running hand touches. His form and tally of 8 raiding points for the match has definitely solved Pune’s problems. His performance has given Wazir Singh some breathing space.<\/p>\n
The Dabangs also found that they have a reliable foil for Kashiling Adake in the form of Rohit Chaudhary. He overshadowed his celebrated senior as he tallied 10 points. He was intimidating with his power and speed and was tackled successfully only once by the rival defence and they had to use all their man-power for that. But he faded towards the end which allowed the losers to surge ahead at 32-31 with the second all out. That happened in the 35th minute and brought the match to a boil. Wazir shouldered the responsibility thereafter but couldn’t carry his team. His calculations at running down the clock failed.
