New Delhi: <\/strong>The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2011 has been ranked as the world\u2019s top Road Running Competition in 2011for men and women combined, as well as for men and women separately, according to the All-Athletics.com Competition Rankings released on January 19, 2012.

The Ras Al Khaimah International Half Marathon (UAE) was ranked second, while the Philadelphia Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll Hal Marathon (USA) was adjudged third.<\/p>\n

The Road Running competitions were ranked in 3 different categories, based on 1) Combined ranking of the Men’s and Women’s races; 2) Men’s Road Running ranking; 3) Women’s Road Running ranking and the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon was adjudged No. 1 in the all the three categories.<\/p>\n

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2011, an IAAF Gold Label event and also the world\u2019s most prestigious half marathon, offered a purse of USD 210,000 and had attracted some of the world\u2019s biggest names in distance running. Ethiopia\u2019s Lelisa Desisa won the men\u2019s overall title in 59.30 minutes, while the women\u2019s title as won by Kenyan Lucy Kabuu in a time of 67.04 minutes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
