New Delhi: With the third edition of Hero Hockey India League fast approaching, the penalty corner specialist, Rupinder Pal Singh aims to deliver his best and defend the Hero Hockey India League title for Delhi Waveriders. The Indian defender is bracing up dutifully to showcase a striking performance with the team\u2019s well equipped defence-line.<\/p>\n
Playing for Delhi Waveriders consecutively for the third time, Rupinder is eagerly awaiting his turn to display his proficiency and abilities alongside an experienced bunch of defenders like India\u2019s Surender Kumar, Diwakar Ram, New Zealand\u2019s Steven Edwards, Andrew Hayward and Australia\u2019s Tristan White.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old drag- flicker has been a significant contributor to the Delhi Waveriders in both the seasons and playing a big role in steering his team to win the second season of the tournament. His aim along with the rest of the team is to retain the Champion Title and for which he is confident that is entire team will live upto the expectation. Rupinder Pal Singh is keen to share the field with Steven Edwards of New Zealand and Australia\u2019s Tristan White who have successfully boosted the Waverider\u2019s defence-line by working enormously on their defence skills.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the upcoming Hero India Hockey League 2015, an excited Rupinder Pal Singh said, \u201cPlaying for a team who has been the champions in the last season, I am much more confident and geared up to play our first match against Uttar Pradesh Warriors. With an advantage of a good defence line up, I am looking forward to a successful tournament for my team and aiming to retain the title. Under the very efficient leadership of Sardar Singh, supported by the brilliant Danish Mujtaba along with much experienced Gurbaj Singh, young Akashdeep Singh and Yuvraj Walmiki to name a few, I am anticipating a good game of hockey from my team. I am even waiting to play alongside Andrew Hayward who will be new to the team this year and going by his record it will be an experience for me to play with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
The inaugural day of the 3rd Hero Hockey India League will see Kalinga Lancers taking on Ranchi Rays on 22 January 2015, in Bhubaneswar.
