{"id":20637,"date":"2014-11-19T06:36:41","date_gmt":"2014-11-19T06:36:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=20637"},"modified":"2014-11-19T06:36:41","modified_gmt":"2014-11-19T06:36:41","slug":"arnond-banks-on-happy-memories-for-king-s-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiansportsnews.co.in\/?p=20637","title":{"rendered":"Arnond Banks On Happy Memories For King\u2019s Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Khon Kaen, Thailand: Thailand\u2019s Arnond Vongvanij believes the \u2018feel-good\u2019 factor will stand in his favour when he returns to the scene of his maiden Asian Tour victory for the King\u2019s Cup next week.<\/p>\n<p>The US$500,000 Asian Tour event will be staged at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club in Khon Kaen from November 27 to 30 and is set to welcome the arrival of the region\u2019s best players including Australia\u2019s Scott Hend, India\u2019s Rashid Khan and Bangladeshi Siddikur Rahman.<\/p>\n<p>Arnond fended off the spirited challenge from veterans Mardan Mamat of Singapore and countryman Thaworn Wiratchant in 2012 to claim his career breakthrough on the region\u2019s premier Tour.<\/p>\n<p>Although it has been two years since his famous victory on home soil, memories of Arnond\u2019s triumph during his rookie season remain fresh in his mind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am actually very excited after knowing that the King\u2019s Cup will be back in Khon Kaen. I really like that golf course, especially having won the tournament there in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like the greens there and that golf course suits my game a lot. I\u2019ve had a lot of good memories there so I am really looking forward to playing back there,\u201d said the 25-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>By his own admissions, the 2014 season has not lived up to his expectations having made the cut only once since the second half of the season started.<\/p>\n<p>Arnond\u2019s tied-second finish in the Philippines remains the only gloss to his topsy-turvy season so far.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is a record which he hopes will change when he steps back to the tee for the King\u2019s Cup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually played well earlier in the year where I had a tied-second finish in the Philippines. However, it hasn\u2019t been that smooth for me since the second half of the season resumed. I had a new driver just before the second half of the season starts and that driver has some issues with the face set-up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t usually have any problems with my mental game, even if I never play well. I just want to be hitting the ball well and if I\u2019m feeling ok with my game.
