Sania Mirza will face Tsvetana Pironkova from Bulgaria in the first round of the women’s singles event of the Australian Open. Sania is the only Indian playing in the single\u2019s category after Somdev Devvarman pulled out of the tournament because of the shoulder injury, reports the Indian Express<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sania has failed to make it to the second round of the Australian Open since 2009.<\/p>\n

Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra showed his class when he defeated the reigning Asian Games champion Zhu Qinan by 0.3 points, in the air rifle event in the Doha, Qatar at the 12th Asian shooting championship on Friday.<\/p>\n
