Germany\u2019s Christopher Ruhr finally broke Flamand\u2019s chance of a shutout finishing on a broken penalty corner in the 62nd minute to cut Belgium\u2019s lead to one. Germany pushed up to try and make a late comeback but Alexandre van Linthoudt dealt a silencer in the 70th minute to give Belgium the 3-1 final score and their first three points in their 2013 Hero Hockey Junior World Cup campaign.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the win Belgium Coach, Philippe Goldberg said \u201cIt\u2019s good feeling to win the first match as it boosts our confidence level going ahead in the tournament. The strategy for today was to defend and simultaneously pick a moment where the opponent to commit a mistake and that is what worked in our favour for today\u201d.<\/p>\n
Post the match, Coach Andre Henning said \u201cIt was an unlucky day for us where we committed too many errors. Belgium was a better side in today\u2019s play where they managed to get more penalty corners and made the right use of it.
