Chennai<\/strong>: Sometimes when you have a goal in front of you it is easy to focus. Sometimes when you have a big milestone in front you and the whole world waits for it, it could bring in pressure to the extent that you lose your way.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

World chess champion Viswanathan Anand has had at least three milestones that kept him waiting for eternity but interestingly all three happened when he least expected each of them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

For Anand when the goals of his career were not just about numbers, everything fell into place. The first one was when he became a Grandmaster, India’s first, after going for it with single-minded determination for about a year, the second, his world No. 1 status which eluded him even after his nemesis Gary Kasparov left the scene and the third, his world title in 2007, which came after a big gap of seven years.<\/p>\n
