New Delhi: Manjot Kalra\u2019s marvellous century helped Bal Bharti Public School, Rohini beat DAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh by 61 runs in a Group E league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U-16 inter-school tournament, played at Parmarth ground, Rani Bagh today.<\/p>\n
DAV Model School won the toss and opted to field first. But they failed to materialise the fresh pitch and their bowlers couldn’t control opponents\u2019 batsmen.<\/p>\n
Bal Bharti Public School\u2019s star batsman Manjot led the batting line-up with his spectacular century and remained unbeaten at 104.<\/p>\n
However, Khwaaish Lal (3\/38) and Yash Kushwaha (2\/37) managed to get wickets of remaining batsmen and restricted the opponents at 221 for 6 wickets in 40 overs.<\/p>\n
In reply, DAV Model School were bowled-out at 160 runs in 37.2 overs. Manjot hit back with lethal bowling and his four-wicket haul rattled the oppositions batting line-up. Jatin Dua destabilised the batsman from the other end with his three wickets.\n<\/p>\n
Only Khwaaish showed some resistance with his 79-run knock but the remaining batsmen failed to build partnership with him.<\/p>\n
Manjot was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his brilliant all-round performance.<\/p>\n
The Delhi-leg of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup 2013-14 will involve participation from 64 leading under-16 cricket teams with matches being played at various grounds across the city. The tournament has commenced from the second week of November and will run for around 3 to 4 weeks. Matches until the quarter-finals will be played on a knock-out format, the 8 quarter-finalists will then play a league.<\/p>\n
The teams and players performing will stand a chance to win prizes at each stage post the quarter-final round. The winners and runners up of the Delhi-leg will be awarded prizes worth INR 50,000 and INR 35,000 respectively.<\/p>\n

With the impressive bowling by Vijay Bhasin (2\/16), Varun Monga (2\/26) and Sarthak Khera (2\/29), they bowled-out Ganga International School in 28.2 overs. Vikram Dagar (39) and Rahul Dagar (26) helped the team with their useful knocks and took the score at respectable 151.<\/p>\n While chasing, Mata Jai Kaur Public School were bowled-out at a meagre score of 93.
