N Srinivasan is a happy man after Supreme Court allowed him to take charge as the BCCI president on Tuesday. He was re-elected unopposed at the cricket board’s 84th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Chennai on September 29 but was barred from taking charge before being given the reprieve by the apex court.<\/p>\n

“I’m happy with the court order. I said this before and I’m saying it now that I have nothing to be worried about, because I’ve been walking the road of truth. I don’t have any reason to look over my shoulder. As far as the (new) probe panel is concerned, I really shouldn’t say anything. The highest court of the country has formed a panel, who am I to comment on that? I have no business (commenting on it). I just say I welcome the court order,” Srinivasan told The Indian Express.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to a report in Deccan Chronicle,<\/strong> the SC has set up a probe panel headed by former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mukul Mudgal to inquire into the allegation of betting and spot-fixing in IPL. However, Srinivasan wasn’t much perturbed about the committee that has been formed by the SC.<\/p>\n \u201cI have no comment on the new committee, Supreme Court has directly formed it. I have not a part of it. I have nothing to do with it,\u201d he added. The 68-year-old on being asked what would be his first task after taking ove, refused to divulge anything. \u201cI will tell about it later,\u201d was all he said.<\/p>\n The senior office-bearers of the BCCI also welcomed the Supreme Court\u2019s order which allows President N Srinivasan to discharge his functions. \u201cWe have always respected the observations and orders of the apex court. We had complete faith in the judiciary. The BCCI accepts the court order with utmost humility.<\/p>\n We are happy that Mr Srinivasan will be able to perform his presidential duties,\u201d said BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel.
