Dhawan has been the mainstay of the Indian batting line up ever since he made his debut against Australia and has not looked back since then.<\/p>\n

To add to his international success Shikhar Dhawan has been the player to watch out for in the Indian Premier League playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad who are in contention for a place in the Champions League T20 if they go through their qualifying round without any hiccups.<\/p>\n

Hyderabad Sunrisers have named Shikhar Dhawan the captain of their side after Kumar Sangakkara opted out of their team as he will be representing the Sri Lankan champion team Kandurata Maroons in this edition of Champions League.<\/p>\n

The announcement came through Sunrisers Hyderabad team’s Twitter handle that Dhawan will lead the side and the dashing Indian opener can wait to take his side to the field.<\/p>\n

Sunrisers Hyderabad came up with a very spirited performance this year in the Indian Premier League where the side made it to the last four of the tournament. It also gave them the ticket to play the qualifiers of the Champions League this year.<\/p>\n

Sunrisers Hyderabad will open their campaign in the qualifiers of the Champions League T20 against Kandurata Maroons in which Kumar Sangakkara will also be in action. The match is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday. The Sunrisers will face Faisalabad  Wolves after their first encounter against Kandurata Maroons on Wednesday followed by their last match in the qualifiers against Otago on Friday.<\/p>\n

The first match of the Champions League after the qualifying stage is scheduled to kick off from the 21st of September with the Mumbai Indians taking on Rajasthan Royals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
