Bangalore:<\/strong> Satisfied with his knock which helped India ‘A’ beat West Indies ‘A’ by 77 runs in the first match of the unofficial ODI series, skipper Yuvraj Singh said that he was quite happy to have scored the century against a high quality West Indies attack. He also said that the knock was special as he scored in the very first match of the season.<\/p>\n

Yuvraj said that he had worked very hard during the off-season. \u201cI have worked hard in my off-season on my batting and other skills in last couple of weeks,\u201d said Yuvraj, adding that he has lost a few kilos and was feeling stronger and moving quickly on the ground.<\/p>\n

“I was always quick on the field and I just worked on those aspects and I am feeling better,” he said, praising his French trainer Tim Exeter for making him and team-mate Zaheer Khan match fit. “It was organised by National Cricket Academy physio Ashish Kaushik. NCA has always supported me and the people who believed in me. I thank them all,” he said.<\/p>\n

Coming to the match, he was also in praise for Mandeep Singh, Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan. \u201cMandeep and Robin gave us a good start which helped me and Yusuf catch up at the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yuvraj also spoke highly of paceman Ronsford Beaton and compared him to Curtly Ambrose. “I think it was a complete international attack. (Andre) Russell has played for his national side and Beaton is the future fast bowler for the West Indies. He reminds me of Curtly. Obviously Curtly was great, but I think he has lot of potential and I think it was a very good attack,” he said at the post-match press conference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
