Chandigarh: The Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration has been running Sports Wing Scheme in Schools as well as at Sports Coaching Centre (s) of the Department almost in all recognized disciplines. The Sports Wing Scheme for the year 2013-14 has been finalized. 400 seats in Schools and 299 seats in Sports Coaching Centres are being allotted. Last year the Department had allocated 660 seats of Sports Wing in the Schools and Sports Coaching Centres. In the Sports Coaching Centre, mostly the college students are benefited.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the scheme is to generate techniques and prepare to achieve excellence of sports disciplines of the games among the trainees. The players having first three positions in the state level, inter-school and state open championship(s) shall be eligible for the enrollment in the Sports Wings<\/p>\n
Schedule of the trials are being circulated to all the Schools\/Colleges and Sports Centres. The trials to fill-up wing seats in various Schools will be held from 25th to 27th July, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. onwards, the details of which are as under :-\n<\/p>\n

Hall-23: Table Tennis, Lake Sports Complex: Archery, Rowing, Squash, Cricket Stadium-16: Cricket, Football Stadium-17: Football<\/p>\n The Sports Wings at the schools will start from 1st August, 2013 to 31st January, 2014, whereas the Sports Wing at the Sports Coaching Centre will start from 16th August, 2013 to 28th February, 2014.<\/p>\n The Sports Wings will be provided a nutritious diet during the training programme everyday.
