Chandigarh: The newly constructed driving range, teaching and practice facilities were opened and inaugurated at Chandigarh Golf Club on July 10.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Gurinderjit Sandhu, President of Chandigarh Golf Club said, \u201cA number of improvements and new features have been incorporated on this newly built structure thus making it up to International Standards\u201d.<\/p>\n
Explaining about the sailent features Bobby Sandhu, Captain of Chandigarh Golf Club said, \u201cOne additional hitting bay has been added thus making it a total of 12 hitting stations as compared to the earlier 11. The mats have now been embedded into the ground which given a much more stable hitting surface. A teaching specific hitting mat is now a part of the Driving Range which will help in teaching the basics to new golfers more efficiently and well as aid them while they practice on their own. Each hitting bay has been independently floodlit to improve the nighttime playing experience for the golfer. The entire new overall structure is designed by Sprech, Italy and is made of galvanized steel preventing it from rusting.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Gurinderjit Sandhu added, \u201cA new roofing has been put on this structure to protect the golfers from the scorching sun and rains. This roofing is state of the art and is made of modular tensile fabric, Ferrari, manufactured with high UV protection for extended life which also reflects the sunlight due to its white colour\u201d. In addition to all this, a new patch of grass has been planted and facility given for the better players to practice at specific times, the Range Fence height has been increased to reduce the possibility of balls flying out thus preventing injury to other golfers as well as curbing ball loss. New benches have been fixed towards the back of the range for golfers to sit and rest during their practice sessions and a provision has been made for an automatic ball dispensing machine which is expected to arrive later in the year.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
