According to a report in Deccan Chronicle<\/strong>, tainted cricketer Sreesanth has been sent to judicial custody. \u201cHis police custody has ended today and police were seeking a two-day extension of his custody. Meanwhile, Ankeet Chavan’s bail plea has been dismissed. He has requested for bail as his marriage was scheduled for June 2. \u201cEarlier, court has extended the custody of actor-cum-bookie, Vindoo Dara Singh till the 31st of May. Police sought the extension of the actor, who functioned as a link between the cricketers and the bookies to probe the nexus between him and umpire, Asad Rauf. Also, police want to investigate the links between Vindoo, Meiyappan and the Chennai based hoteleier, Vikram Agarwal more closely,\u201d adds the report.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile The Times of India<\/strong> too reports that suspended cricketer S Sreesanth, who was on Tuesday remanded in judicial custody till June 4, will be kept in jail number one of the Tihar jail.<\/p>\n

“Sreesanth will be lodged in Jail number one,” police sources said.<\/p>\n

According to Indian Express<\/strong>, Ankeet Chavan, an accused in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing scandal, was on Tuesday denied bail by a Delhi court which said social stigma cannot be a ground to give him the relief.<\/p>\n

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lokesh Kumar Sharma dismissed his plea for bail, which
was sought on ground that his marriage is fixed for June 2 and if the wedding does not take place it will cause harm to his reputation and that of the prospective bride. “The defence counsel has cited reason of social stigma to the families of the bride and groom. Social sentiments cannot be considered as a valid ground while evaluating the grounds of bail. Keeping in view the gravity of offence and conspiracy with other co-accused persons, I do not find any ground to admit accused either on regular or on interim bail.
