But having avoided the media after the IPL spot fixing scandal broke out, involving international star S Sreesanth and later Chennai Super Kings Team principal Gurunath Meiyappan, who also happens to be the son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivasan, Dhoni, who had come to address the Fourth Estate before the team\u2019s departure for ICC Champions Trophy, on Tuesday, kept mum on the uncomfortable questions put forth before him regarding the IPL spot fixing scandal.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On expected lines, BCCI issued a diktat that the journalists attending the press conference won&#8217;t be allowed to ask questions on the spot-fixing scandal which rocked the cash-rich league leading after the arrest of three cricketers including Sreesanth.<\/p>\n<p>When Dhoni was asked about his silence despite being the leader of the Indian cricket team, the media manager Dr R N Baba stopped the scribe from probing the skipper further, asking him to stick to questions pertaining to Champions Trophy.<\/p>\n<p>The team was leaving for England later that night for the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Baba, who is an official of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and is also one of Srinivasan&#8217;s close aides, has performed the duties of media manager for a major part of the last season. His son Aparajith is an U-19 India player and a contracted player of CSK.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if the Indian team would be able to instil faith in the cricket loving people about being &#8220;fair&#8221; during the Champions Trophy, all Dhoni could manage was a chuckle as Dr Baba again sprang into action stopping the journalist from probing further.<\/p>\n<p>As far as cricketing queries were concerned, one got the routine predictable answers from the India captain &#8212; it has been the case for the better part of the last six years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mumbai: It\u2019s unlike Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has more than often been straight forward and at times quite diplomatic with his answers to the querries of the media.
