Delhi Police has now started questioning Raj Kundra, one of the team owner of Rajasthan Royals, in the case of spot-fixing. Rajasthan Royals bowler Siddharth Trivedi was present during Mr Kundra’s questioning. Mr Trivedi had recorded his statement in a Delhi court on Friday and has turned approver for Delhi Police in the case.

He has reportedly told the police the bookies were in touch with his arrested colleague Ajit Chandila and some others who used to party together and that some foreign cricketers used to attend these parties.<\/p>\n
Umesh Goenka, a friend of Mr Kundra, has also been questioned by the police.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s almost three weeks back that three of the Rajasthan Royals players were arrested and after initial probe itself quite a lot of money was recovered from their hotel rooms. <\/span>S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan are still under the radar as they accepted the money from bookies for deliberately giving away certain amount of runs in some overs. <\/p>\n Police allege the players deliberately bowled badly in exchange for tens of thousands of dollars after striking deals with bookmakers. Sreesanth\u2019s bail plea was rejected on Tuesday and was asked to file a fresh one.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Delhi Police has said that,\u201d Tough charges would apply against 26 accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), which is usually used against crime syndicates. Underworld don Dawaood Ibrahim, who reportedly lives in Pakistan, and his associate Chotta Shakeel, controlled the betting, and declared them accused.\u201d<\/p>\n Mumbai and Delhi Police are investigating both the teams, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, for their alleged involvement in this serious crime of spot-fixing and betting. Prinicipal of CSK, Gurunath Meiyappan, was arrested by the Mumbai Police on May 24 for allegedly passing on the information regarding his team and also for placing bets in IPL matches.<\/p>\n Though, Gurunath Meiyappan has been granted bail but the consequence of this incident has directly hit the BCCI Chief, N Srinivasan who has to step-aside last Sunday after some serious pressure that was put on him by the BCCI board members.
