David Warner has run himself into some big trouble after punching England batsmen Joe Root in a bar. Meanwhile former England captain Michael Vaughan said David Warner had “tarnished the image of whole Australia cricket team” with his alleged attack on Root. The incident followed the Aussies’ 48-run defeat by England in their tournament opener at Edgbaston on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Vaughan was quoted by Hindustan Times<\/strong> saying, \u201cWarner has ruined the image of Australian Cricket by doing such a disgraceful thing. He has been going through a rough patch and laying his hands off on someone shows his frustration.\u201d<\/p>\n Former England batsman was quoted by Deccan Chronicle saying, “In India a few months ago they would definitely have felt it couldn’t get any worse after they dropped their few players for not doing their \u201chome-work\u201d. Now they come to England. People will say the management isn’t strong enough. But what does the management do when someone swings at an opposing player at 02:00 or 03:00?.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, “People are talking about him but the whole network, structure, captain, management, supporters, are all tarred with the same brush because of what that one individual has done to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n He concluded saying, \u201cIt’s nothing that a coach or a captain can stop, it’s down to that one individual acting in an irresponsible manner.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile the stand-in captain of Australia, George Bailey was quoted by Indian Express saying, “I thought he took it on the chin. No pun intended. From my point of view, it’s disappointing.
