The announcement was made after the agreement signing ceremony by the top officials of the Badminton Association of India and Badminton World Federation here on Friday.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>New Delhi will host the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup, the World Team Championship for Men and World Team Championship for Women respectively, from May 18-25, 2014.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;On this occasion, Badminton Association of India President Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta, MP, said, \u201cWe are thankful to BWF for giving us the opportunity to host the prestigious Thomas Cup and Uber Cup Finals in the country for the first time. I\u2019m confident India will organize a world-class tournament.\u201d<br \/>\n<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Badminton World Federation Deputy President Paisan Rangsikitpoh said, \u201cIndian badminton\u2019s stature is rising and we are confident that India will host the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup finals very successfully.\u201d<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>BWF Secretary General Thomas Lund said, \u201cWe assessed India\u2019s bid and are happy with their technical capabilities of hosting the prestigious Thomas Cup and Uber Cup finals.
