Kolkata<\/strong>: On papers it does look that the first day of the third day went England\u2019s way after they reduced India to 273-7 at stumps but Indian opener Gautam Gambhir feels that both the teams are equally placed and something around 330 or more will make the contest interesting.<\/p>\n

“I think we have lost two wickets more. The way Ashwin was batting, we could have continued a bit more. But it’s part and parcel of the game. It was an even day, can’t really say it can go England’s way. If we can put 330-350 on the board it would be a good contest,” said the left hander batsman.<\/p>\n

Gautam who has been under-fire for lack of form showed glimpse of excellence in the match and scored a brilliant 60 in the first innings.<\/p>\n

Gambhir also felt that the pitch had something for everyone and the way James Andersen was reverse-swinging the ball, it will keep Zaheer Khan interested and he will be a key to India\u2019s performance in the match.<\/p>\n

“We have got Zaheer and Ishant who can reverse the ball really well. If they are on song, it’s going to be difficult for England as well,” said Gambhir after the day\u2019s play.<\/p>\n

“Zaheer Khan is a master of reverse swing. If he gets going I think it would be worrying for England. Hopefully, Zaheer and Ishant can do the job for us and play a big role for India. This is a wicket which will have something for everyone. It has carry, and sometimes the ball remains up and down,” he added.<\/p>\n

Andersen was the wrecker-in-chief for England and returned with figures of 3-68.<\/p>\n

“He did not give any loose deliveries. It was reversing and he was hiding the shine as well. It really gets difficult when someone hides the ball as you are not able to see the shine of the ball and don’t know which way it would go.\u201d<\/p>\n
