\"IndianGreater Noida<\/strong>: Sebastian Vettel who topped all the practice sessions so far in the Indian Grand Prix<\/a> has set the pace for tomorrow\u2019s race as he took the pole position in the Buddha International Circuit here today.<\/p>\n

Sebastian Vettel<\/a> who won here last time took the pole position by clocking 1:25.283. He will be joined by his teammate Mark Webber on the starting position of the grid who ended 0.044 seconds behind Vettel.<\/p>\n

The result should come as a delight for him as his closest rival Fernando Alonso <\/a>will start tomorrow\u2019s race from the third row after he finished fifth with a timing of 1:25.773.<\/p>\n

Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button of McLaren set the fourth and the best timing respectively. Hamilton clocked 1:25.544, while Button was 0.115 second adrift of his leader.<\/p>\n

This is the third time in a row that the Red Bull have locked out the front row, while it was Vettel\u2019s fifth pole of the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am happy with the qualifying race and we are happy to be in the place the team is in. We started the weekend well and the car has improved from yesterday,\u201d Vettel told the reporters after the post qualifying session.<\/p>\n

Even though Vettel starts at a vantage and win tomorrow can further consolidate his position for the driver\u2019s championships, he avoided getting complacent and said, \u201cIt will be a long race and nothing can be said about it.  It will be a close race and hope that I can win tomorrow,\u201d said Vettel.<\/p>\n

Ferrari driver Felipe Massa who picked up the pace during the back end of the season will start his teammate from the third spot on the grid.<\/p>\n

Kimi Raikonnen of Lotus who is third behind Vettel and Alonso on the championships standings clocked a time of 1:26: 713 to register the seventh best timing of the qualification.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Sahara Force India<\/a> driver Nico Hulkenburg (1:27:185) set the 12th best timing of the day while Paul di Resta (1:27:462) took his car to the 16th position.<\/p>\n
