\"jeevan-neduncheziyan\"New Delhi:<\/strong> Jeevan Neduncheziyan<\/a> began his title hunt on a thumping note as he defeated former champion Vijay Kannan in the men\u2019s first round of the Fenesta National Tennis Championship<\/a> at the DLTA Complex here on Monday.<\/p>\n

Jeevan, who has been handed the top billing in absence of the big guns won 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets. The experienced Kannan did start off on a good note but then could match up to the speed and agility of his younger competitor.<\/p>\n

In another from the men\u2019s section, Tejas Chaukalkar got the better of seventh-seeded Abhijeet Tiwari, while Mohit Mayur edged past eighth seed Chandril Sood.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile from the women\u2019s section Anushka Bhargawa conceded her match in the third set to former national champion Sonal Phadke. She was down 6-1, 4-6, 2-3 when she retired hurt from the match.<\/p>\n
